I bought it last night with some J&R GCs that I got through a website a while ago.

Song list.

Comes out mid-September, and just got the disc only, no instruments.

Same game as Rock Band, but with more songs, and slight interface tweaks that are nice.

The songs aren't as good this time around.

Are you playing it on the 360? If so did you import the songs from 1 over to 2? How much space does it take up?

I only have the 20GB and I don't have much space left after I put the current game I am playing on my hard drive.

Also how are the songs used? Is there a special section for the rock band 1 songs or are they just added to the list according to difficulty and genre?

Unless you didn't do this then never mind.

I am playing on the 360, and did import the songs.

They are just added to the list according to difficulty and genre. There's even a little symbol to indicate what version the song is from (1, 2, or DLC). They are integrated into the world tour part of the game in sets where you pick songs, iirc.

i dont know how much space it took, as i have the 120gb xbox.

Internet implies 2-6GB, which seems high. The # 500MB is in my mind, but I'm not sure why.

Is there an easy way I can check?

I thought that when you bought songs packs they were save to the hard drive as a group so you may be able to look in your settings and see the Rock Band 1 track pack as a group maybe?

Well, lemme look in the settings then....
(turns on 360...)

Rock Band 2 takes up 2.2GB
Each song is listed individually.... subtracting out the DLC it looks like RB1 songs take up 1.5GB.

1.5GB isn't bad but that seems like a lot of space for song that takes up 3-4 MB as a mp3 and then some programing for some colored dots.

Thanks for the info.

Also was there any special code or anything you needed besides the 400-500 microsoft points needed to transfer the licenses for the songs? Did it look like other people could use your Rock Band disc if they paid the microsoft points to put the songs on their 360?

Not doing well in sales.

The article even hints that guitar games are dying.

Well, there's only so much market.

Personally, I'm done buying them until they more accurately simulate playing guitar.

I think the problem is selling discs? Guitar Hero seems to be coming out with another $60 game every few months and perhaps people are losing interest in spending that much and getting songs they don't want.

Rock Band just passed the 1 billion mark and that franchise isn't very old. Most of their money comes from people buying the individual songs.

Not sure how many fans on the boards and I haven't downloaded any songs for RB2 yet but with every single albume and song available for download I think I will be getting some.

Will probably pick up the disc, I just hope you can import the songs to RB2 and not have to play them as a stand alone game.

When playing alone I can activate the multiplier and it goes to 8, but when in a band if I activate it the multiplier stays at 4.

Any idea why you don't get the bonus when in a band?

Isn't there a separate band multiplier or something? It's been so long since I played I can't remember.

So then the overdrive in a band goes to a band multiplier and and not the single person.

To be honest I am nowhere near good enough to look anywhere but directly at my notes that are coming down so I never even saw that multiplier up in the corner.
