GH guitars work for RB just fine.
The hardest song we finished was Enter Sandman, bass, guitar, drums on medium. Barely fucking finished.
Rock Band
Yeah, I bought GH3 for XBox just to get the extra guitar (wireless no less).Malcolm wrote:GH guitars work for RB just fine.

We ended last night barely making it through Enter Sandman as well. The drummer had the most problems, and we dropped out two times before we could finish it.
It's not me, it's someone else.
Guitar Hero - Aerosmith
This is going to be Guitar Hero's attempt at setting itself apart from Rock Band. If the Aerosmith one does well, expect to see multiple versions of GH coming out every few months like GH: Metallica, GH: KISS, GH: Rolling Stones, etc.
Sorry Gordo, no word yet on Guitar Hero: Wham!.
As for Rock Band, I think it's not as polished, but it has a lot more game play and potential. I played Guitar Hero 2 months ago and was mildly intrigued. Then I got Guitar Hero 3 and was bored in 2 days. (At least I got it for free.) I just have zero desire to spend weeks or months getting good at pretending to play songs that no matter how much I like them, I'll get sick of them.
It reminds me a lot of Dragon's Lair...continuous play just memorizing the sequences until you become an expert.
I think Rock Band sets itself apart because of the drums and vocals. The drums are simply fun to play period. That's not a reference to RB's drums, but drums in general. You get a workaround and it's a good stress reliever. The true star is probably the vocals as everyone loves to sing.

And Rock Band can be more social too.
