hibernate mode gone?
The option to hibernate on my laptop has totally vanished from every place it used to exist. On the shutdown menu, it's now blurred out like an inactive button or something. Wtf?

Alright, after attempting to HACK MY REGISTRY to fix this, I stumbled across the command to do it from cmd. "System does not support hibernation." Wtf? Seriously, wtf? It used to hibernate all the goddamned time.
EDIT : It appears Macroshaft is very good at breaking people's hibernate mode for various reasons of incompetency during shitty patches.
EDIT, the second : The only patch that could possibly describe & fix my problem is from fucking '03 & not compatible w\ SP2. What in the fucking hell?

Why would you ever hibernate?
Ditto. I've never understood why the function exists.

I meant Stand By when I said Sleep.Malcolm wrote:Or standby or whatever the hell it's called when shuts down most of the hardware & keeps a copy of the current state on the hard disk.
Hibernate is the one that saves to disk, btw. Stand by the computer is still running, just really slowly.
It's not me, it's someone else.
