RALEIGH, N.C. -- The singer and musician known as Uncle Kracker was arrested in Cary early Friday morning and charged with second-degree sex offense.
Kracker, whose real name is Matthew Shafer, 33, was arrested at about 5 a.m. Friday morning at at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Cary. He had performed Thursday night at the Downtown Depot Party at the Ess Lounge in Raleigh.
The fun part is that my band played at that party twice as the opening act earlier this summer. Damn; we could have opened for Uncle Kracker.
