As long as we recognize Lucas is washed up and most TV sucks, we'll all get along fine.

A movie by Sean Baker, Anora won the Palm d'Or at Cannes last year. Ona budget of $6 million, it made $36 million worldwide.

It tells the (R-rated) story of Anora, a stripper who goes by the name Ani who meets a 21 year old Russian guy at a NYC strip club shortly before New Years Eve one year.
Sean Baker's Palme d'Or winner ANORA is an audacious, thrilling, and comedic variation on a modern day Cinderella story
Cinderella, hmmm. Ani is a poor stripper who lives with her sister (parents unknown), while Russian guy is super rich, with hints of his parents being mob, or maybe just oligarchs. She visits his house, they have sex, and he asks her to be his "girlfriend" for the week. Eventually they end up in Vegas and get married. From there, it gets complicated once his family and minders find out.

Overall, the movie kinda drags/get repetitive in a few places, but is overall very entertaining. Fair amount of nudity, and the strip club scenes are probably as real as any movie has ever done, imho.

Since it won the Palm d'Or, you can maybe guess how the Cinderella story turns out.

Probably wouldn't have won any of them if that transwoman's old Tweets hadn't surfaced.

Not discounting this film, but rather mocking Hollywood's constant need to virtue signal.
