POSTAL Brain Damaged

Post by Leisher »

FPS featuring the Postal guy, but it's all set in his dreams. They make it seem like this is a Serious Sam type of game, but it's not. Yes, there are some truly challenging fights featuring a bunch of enemies, but the levels aren't designed for the same types of SS strategies and fights, nor are there even remotely as many enemies.

The settings are not as odd as you'd expect for a dream, especially after the first level.

There's no real story. You're just after yourself (a dream version of you) and go through levels finding X so you can X and then advance to the next level.

I didn't keep track of how many levels, but there were three sections made up of a variety of levels. I beat it in basically 2 sessions, but I didn't do my normal completionist thing. It just wasn't that interesting. Hard to get into a game without a story.

Honestly, the whole game is just a bunch of dick and fart jokes, only they're not funny.

The level design is both tight, but shitty, if that makes sense? I got stuck in scenery once requiring me to close and reopen the game. Not too impressive.

The weapons are either what you expect or a bit odd, like the vacuum cleaner that launches cats.

Somehow this is "Overwhelmingly Positive" on Steam. It's not. It's fine, but very unremarkable. I wouldn't recommend it except to FPS diehards, and even then, only at $5 or less.
