the Koch brothers first. And probably a few others.
Maybe some non-right leaning people?

I feel like if I was the richest man in the world I would probably doing a lot more than elon is, arrogance-wise.
I believe you.
I'd only be in the news for my promiscuity. (And Catt would hate me because I'd be banging women he wants to bang.)

Now for a rant, just because I'm on lunch and need a fucking break from my life and this office...
However, getting serious about this, this is why I feel a lot of the hate towards Elon is unwarranted, politically motivated, and getting brutally honest, jealousy.
Elon was born into a rich family. Not a ridiculously wealthy one, but they had money. He could have coasted. He could be WAY more entitled and more of a cunt. Instead he set out to pave his own road and has done so pretty fucking successfully. Granted, his dad's money helped get him started, but it didn't make decisions for him. He isn't the richest man on Earth because dad was a millionaire, that's not how that works. Is he going to make mistakes? Yep, as EVERYONE does. Is he going to say dumb shit? Same answer. Is he going to have a privileged view of the world that causes him to see things differently than Joe Public? Yep, and I would argue he needs to hire a Joe Public to bounce things off of. Just a person to shadow him and tell him what the average person thinks or will think. I think all billionaires need that.
Anyway, what has he done to really earn the hate?
Because he's arrogant? Aren't we all to a point? Do we hate George Clooney for literally saying he and his kind have NEVER been wrong about any issue? Do we hate Will Smith for thinking he has the right to walk on stage in front of millions and physically assault another man over words? Do we still allow CNN to operate and call them credible despite them having purposely manipulated voters because their arrogance tells them they were justified to do so? And I could go on forever.
I'm old enough to remember that Elon was a darling of the left. He was making the premiere brand of EVs. He was providing free internet to Ukraine in their efforts against Russia along with philanthropic work elsewhere. He's done more for space exploration than all the other space obsessed billionaires, and honestly, has done more than NASA over the past decade.
But then he had the gall to say something against the party. Making matters worse he bought the social media equivalent of DailyKOS and stopped their repeatedly proven practice of silencing right leaning or conservative voices. Oh, and their, at BEST, ambivalence towards child pornography.
He immediately skyrocketed to public enemy #1 for anyone on the left. It's been the same for other left wing darlings like Joe Rogan and some dude named Donald Trump.
I don't worship Elon (or any person) like some people seem to and I totally understand just not liking someone (the list of people I dislike is basically almost as long as the list of actual people in existence), but I don't get the hatred.
Do we hate Richard Branson who has some seriously shady sexual things in his past? How about Jeff Bezos who might be the real life Dr. Evil? Mark Zuckerberg is possibly an artificial lifeform and has fucked his users over constantly, including suppressing stories that very likely could have swung the last election, but that's all ok? George Soros has been described many times as the most evil human being alive, and his money is very active in violent and/or disruptive movements around the world, yet he doesn't get the public hate Elon does. (Probably helps that he's a huge D donor so the MSM won't attack him.) Soros' son is the epitome of what many Elon haters wrongfully claim about Elon and unlike Elon he isn't driven to be his own man or create, he just wants to burn the world down for daddy. But he gets no hate.
BTW, I think this rant was inspired by my own revelations about Justin Bieber. I used to hate him. Yeah, I wasn't thrilled that a mildly talented singer (not songwriter) was a billionaire and worshipped the way he was, so there was jealousy. I hate how our culture does that. I also hated him for who he was, which was an entitled cunt who didn't know how to act civilized or even simply nice. However, now he has my pity. Despite being a billionaire, he's damaged goods. He's consumed by demons, has no purpose, was exploited, was sexually assaulted, etc. and it all happened right in front of our eyes. Poor Brittany Spears and Amanda Bynes are in the same boat. People did horrible things to these kids, gave them tons of wealth, and we expected them to be normal?
That's the end of my Ted talk. Now it's back to miserable life and waiting for the sweet embrace of death.
