Venom: The Last Dance (2024)
This was a popcorn fart of a movie.
Eddie and Venom are being hunted by symbiote killers sent by Null. Null is older than the universe and was imprisoned long ago by his symbiotes. He wants to kill all living things as revenge and is unstoppable. Turns out, Venom and Eddie are the key to freeing Null, and there's a pretty large plot hole created because of why.
Eddie and Venom's relationship is the only redeeming value in this film. Their buddy cop routine is pretty fun, but everything else is complete dogshit.
Ok, not everything. There is good action, and the way the symbiote killers eliminate humans is pretty cool.
Still, the story is so damn bad and the inclusion of the hippie family is painful cheese. So, so many writing mistakes. Stuff like: "This is the first of many failed attempts" and 5 minutes later it's happening every 3 seconds.
Give Hardy credit for not phoning it in, but he wasn't given a lot to work with here.
Thankfully, Sony has now abandoned their Spiderverse movies after this, Madame Web, Morpheus, and Kraven all failed critically and at the box office.
Entertaining enough, but still a bad movie.
