Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts

Got this is a Humble Bundle a while back and have been playing it lately. It's a good game and fun. Despite not being nearly done, I wanted to post because this is pretty close to the game Cake has wanted since forever. You get dropped in with limited ammo, three weapons (rifle, MG, and pistol), limited health, and overwhelming numbers will kick your ass. Also, enemy snipers can drop you in a single shot.

IMHO, just set it to normal or hard difficulty and play. Fuck up? Don't load last checkpoint, reset the level. There's your reality setting. (Load last checkpoint might have you missing things anyway.) A sequel just dropped causing the price on this one to drop as well. Might be one to look up if it sounds interesting to you.

Fun game. I would say it's probably the best sniper game out there. It can be a little "video game"-ish at times if you let it. For example, the AI can freak out for a bit if a body is found, but after 5-10 minutes, they will go back to normal patrols, but with more caution and are more easily alerted. In real life, they'd sweep the area, call in reinforcements, and so on, but gaming isn't there yet. So put difficulty on max, never upgrade your character, unless you want access to specific tools, which is probably find as they're real life ones. Then don't allow yourself to use checkpoints, so each level will last you a couple of hours and you scout and recon learning patterns, tagging enemies, and planning out your attack.

Weapons and enemies are real. Levels are well designed. Graphics are beautiful. The game's a bit short with only 5 or 6 levels, but if you play as a sniper and not Rambo you're looking at hours for each level. FYI, playing as Rambo will be tough because you don't have unlimited health and the enemies are able to kill you quickly. Enemy snipers only need 1 shot to take you out.

If anyone is interested and wants more details, holla.

Recommended.
