Chicago
Just got done watching it.
Ummmm. Suck?
I forced myself to watch the whole thing to make sure I was giving it a chance to entertain me. It didn't. I don't get how people could say it was good/worth watching. Especially if you're a guy. Haven't seen anything this sucky since My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Had people telling me that was a good movie too. Ya. Right. Can't think of anything else to say.

I think your expectations were too high.
I thought it would suck, but was entertained since my expectations were soo low.
Greek wedding did just plain suck, though.
I agree on all counts.

I had absolutely no desire to see Chicago. I watched part of a documentary on the making of Chicago, and my wife borrowed the DVD, so I ended up watching it. I think the documentary helped me enjoy it more ("Hey, that's the scene that gave Zeta-Jones bruises on her ass!"). It did not live up to the hype though, so overall I was disappointed.
I knew what kind of movie it was ahead of time, so I don't feel betrayed enough by the film to hate it.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding wasn't bad either.
I wouldn't watch them again, but I recognise that they are appealing to certain demographics (people who want to have sex with men).
I will say this about My Big Fat Greek Wedding, the transformation from fat ugly girl to attrative girl was the best I've seen on film. Usually filmmakers will put a pretty girl in glasses, and tie back her hair to make her "the ugly duckling." Either that or they'll put on fake looking fatso makeup. You can tell what's up right away. But not so with the ugly girl in MBFGW. She didn't look easily fixable at first.

I really liked the songs in Chicago. They fit the film. Not to mention how smartly they were filmed. The press conference and the courtroom come to mind immediately.
I've seen lots of other musicals, including Disney films, where the songs didn't fit.
Thib, in my original review I stated that Queen Latifah stole the show and was actually sexier than the two stars.

NOBODY wanted some hot Queen Latifah lovin'?
