Young should not have won. I don't think Stroud should have won either. I'm really over the default "offensive player on a winning, high profile team" selection. Young would NOT have won it if Bama gets beat by UGA. Hell, if they would have lost that game to Auburn, which they should have, he wouldn't have won it. So why is he deserving?

Either Bosa brother and Chase Young should have had real shots at it their last years at OSU. Hutchinson should have had a real shot this year. (Getting invited isn't a real shot.)

This year was the perfect year to do something different.

Ex-Miami HC Diaz to PSU as DC.

OSU recruit to reclassify.

Weird timing here. This is a front page story on ESPN on NFL Sunday. However, this story broke Monday among OSU Twitter/FB pages.

I wonder why ESPN was so late grabbing it or why they went live with it today?

Well, the first two games went well. Then they played colleges with scholarship athletes.

He stepped down at the end of the season.

There's a reason teams follow certain formulas. Although, did you see Cowher ripping into...I believe John Harbaugh and analytics during last week's games? Basically saying a decision he made was terrible and despite the analytics saying do it, a good coach needs to read the game and make decisions on that. Essentially, he was saying Harbaugh relied too much on analytics to do his job for him.

I would tend to agree with Cowher. Analytics can't account for injuries, who is hot, and so on.

(I know that's NFL talk, but this coach's style not working made me think of it.)

They can. But it's easy to condemn probability with a bad outcome. A coin that goes tails 8 times in a row is just bad luck, but Cowher could say the flipper needs to change his strategy.

Ok, I need to see how analytics being used today can account for a "hot hand".

Analytics have a place in everything, not just sports, but fuck would this world be boring if every decision was made by analytics.

Every decision already is, it's just wetware. Brains are neural networks that process the past, the present, and expectations of the future to come to a decision. The players still have to execute. Every decision could already be made by analytics, and you wouldn't know the differnce.

People call this one a "game changer", but I don't think so.

Despite his success, I had no idea Deion was coaching college. They get no press or TV. That will change a bit now, but how much really? If the ratings aren't there, networks won't show them. If this kid doesn't deliver on the field, then it'll be seen as a failure. Even if he does, it will be mentioned that he is against inferior opponents. Point being, he needs to be the best CB ever, by a lot, at that level or it will hurt him in the long run and the FCS as other 5 stars will see what happened and not go the same route.

He's gotten a lot of press this season, pre-season and during. But mostly because he had surgery + some complications during the season.

All I'm saying is this kid has to deliver in a bigger way than anyone in FCS ever has or it's must be considered a failure.

From what I understand, positive tests, but nobody is sick.

Sucks. I was looking forward to that game despite thinking we'd lose.

Good luck to your Heels.
