Been binge-watching the SNL clips: they really are some of the best bits of all time, IMO.
Came across this today:

One of the SNL bits, Connery says something like "you wouldn't look so smart without those cards, Trebek."
Well, I know he ABSOLUTELY does know the material, because I got a question wrong, and HE KNEW WHY...because I was thinking of another painting by the same artist.
The 60 minutes clip made me sad. I mostly don't give a rat's ass when a celebrity dies. But I guess now I understand, a little. I have no idea if Trebek was a nice guy, good man, whatever. But damn, he did his job, and he did his job well, for a long time. I hope he's in The Good Place.
The SNL Jeopardy skits are some of the best work they ever did.

The shooting process is interesting. But he spends a couple of hours every morning going over that day's five episodes of clues, meeting with the writers, etc, to get background.

While I kind of wanted Jennings, he's busy enough on several game shows.
Rodgers would have been the most entertaining choice.

He was terrible, and there was also the very fun chance that he could snap at any point and attack someone or run crying off screen.

lol
Like 5-10% of the time he was good, and showed some personality and humour. The other 90-95%, ugh. read me a bedtime story.
