Sticky EVE tips and tricks.
Aligning for warp:
Allows for a quick get away in case bad things happen. Find the space station/planet/etc you are going to use as the warp point, and double click nest to it so you are flying full speed towards it. When you hit warp to that location, you will warp MUCH MUCH faster than you would if you had to turn, line up, etc. This works for me because I use missles and I like to keep distance from the rats. Gun users may not have this option as they have to chase and keep close to their targets.
If you can not pre-align (cause you use guns or your target is running or whatever) but you must make the most quickest escape you can, don't select your normal station/planet/etc from the overview and hit warp. Position your camera so that it's behind your ship and you are looking in the direction you are flying. Pick a far away object that is the closest to the nose of your ship (meaning, the object you are most in line with) and warp to that.
The less your ship has to turn to align with the target destination, the quicker you will warp out.

Being chased by PKs.
If you are being chased by PKs, know that they can watch the direction you warp off into and logicaly pick where you were warping to based on the far away objects in that direction and follow you. So, make sure you warp again as soon as you get there.
If you don't already have a 'safe' spot bookmarked, use up your capacitor. Turn on your shield booster, armor repairer, etc. Whatever will burn up your cap. Have a destination selected and ready to warp. In otherwords, have your mouse hovering over the 'warp to' option in the menu. As soon as you get the 'your capacitor is empty' message, click to start the warp. You will get the message that you don't have enough cap to make it all the way there. Good. You will stop at some random spot between where you were, and where you were going. Will be VERY hard (impossible?) for the PK to stop his warp close enough to you to do anything to you.
Safe spots:
While warping from one location to another, set a book mark. Once set, warp to that location to hide from PKs. Will be hard (impossible) for them to get to you. Some people say that PKs can catch you between two locations though. I don't know how. But, some say they can. Many people say that the best safe spot is to set a bookmark mid warp. Then, warp to that book mark. Once there, start warping someplace else. While mid warp, set a new bookmark. The second book mark is your safe spot. Makes sense that this will be more safe (even more random), but I still don't see how they'd find you at the first one.
Anyway, there you.

I made a training page quickly describing how to hunt for people in a system. Find out who's there, where they are, etc. It's quick and ugly, so feel free to volunteer to clean it up.
Or, just check it out.

Once you've gotten the angle fairly narrow, you can then use the distance option to figure out exactly where they are. Each AU is approx 150,000,000km. In the given example, cutting the scan range down would help determine if Spongebob is in the local group and if so which astronomical object he's hanging out at.

And the impact of primary versus secondary skills, and of Learning V. and V level advanced learning skills
Summarize:
Learning V: Worth it in 140 days
Advanced attribute-based learning V: Worth it in 3 years 235 days.
Personally, stopping at advanced level 3, and learning 5. (without going advanced on charisma)
