I remember a version of Civ like that. But I never had a Super Game Boy.

I made it to 107, I think, this morning. #239 on the Solo Crusader leaderboard. Honestly no idea how other people made it to Level 127. I feel like my build is about 97% of how good it can be. And, I finished the GR with 5 seconds to spare.TheCatt wrote:GR98 is post-game content. There's a seasonal competition of some sort to see where you can get. The game itself was OK. The kids loved it, since they've never played anything like it before.
The post-game was/is interesting. But I'm at that point where it's all up to the RNG, and getting better takes way too long.

Looks like you made it much further than i did, i was just happy to get the complete armor set for the Demon Hunter. Also, looks like the next season has already started, i don't think i'll partake in this one. Diablo is a good game that i like to come back to every 6-8 months or so and i quite like it that way.
In other Blizzard news. WOW Classic has released and i've gotta say after watching some streams and talking to a few people that i work with that are playing it, i'm interested in trying it out. You don't need to buy it but if you pay the $15 a month you get access to WOW Classic and the current WOW with all of its expansions.
Might be a fun little diversion for a few months. Also might keep me from impulse buying Borderlands 3 on Epic which releases in a couple weeks.

I didn't think I would, but my daughters were really into it. I got my DH up to L70 (Torment 1)... not sure how far I'll go, but if they want to play, I'll hop on.

I've been having so much fun playing WoW Classic for the past few weeks. It can be brutally hard, u die alot. The adventure of figuring out the quests are fun and also difficult. You have to walk everywhere giving the world a real feel. The fun is in the grind to level up but it doesn't feel like a grind, i've got something like 75 hours into the game and at level 27 of 60.
Grouping up is a must at points, you will have quests that require you to go deep into enemy territory so you can't go it alone. Cool thing is when you get there other solo runners will probably be there doing the same quest so people will group up to help finish that quest and then go on your own again.
Dungeons are a blast, you group up with 4 others usually tank, 3 DPS and a healer and make a run beating all the bosses. These can take anywhere from 45 mins if your an efficient group up to 3 hours if you all suck and don't know where you're going. I usually only do these on the weekends because they are a little more involved than normal. Haven't gotten to do any of the 15, 30 or 40 man raids yet, i believe you need to be lvl 60 for those.
i've never played WoW before and really had no interest in starting into a game thats got 15 years of shit to catch up on. But its old school and it feels like it. I'm sure its not like UO for all you truly old school MMO fans but it has a quality and charm about it that all the recent MMO's don't have.

It has me mildly interested.
The original days of UO can never be recreated. Even if a developer was able to take a chance and give us a "wild west" atmosphere, there are simply too many games pulling the audience into different directions.
Yes, I actually believe there are too many options.

As far as I can tell from friends who have worked in gaming, almost everyone gets screwed. Though, the two friends I have at Epic are pretty happy lately.Leisher wrote: Worker revolt of sorts at Blizzard.

It sounds like they're more comparing salaries internally and see discrepancies?
But yeah, a game tester job can't pay much. Isn't it supposed to be a stepping stone to a higher position? Especially since so many gamers are willing to do it for free in their spare time?

QA shouldn't be a scrub job, IMO. Maybe your first year as an intern.
But it makes perfect sense with the current business model of pushing a half-finished product out the door and fix bugs and add content with paid add-ons.
WHich consumers are perfectly fine with. So too bad so sad, game testers.

Well, they're not, but they have zero recourse.

I boycott Subway and Jimmy John's. I don't think they miss my business.
I actively cost Epic Games money. I'm sure they don't notice.

Much like our political system, it's the fucktards that continue to participate that keep the shit rolling. As long as people keep giving them money, they have zero incentive to change. In fact, they continue to get worse, testing how far they can push their customers. And their customers keep taking it. It's not a lack of recourse. It's a lack of not wanting to eat shit.
