HQ Trivia

It occurred to me that someone who types letters recited to them could win almost every game with a partner.

As the host says the question, they could be typing it into google and just go based upon words that match an answer.

You get 10 seconds, which is plenty of time for Google. The keys would be the person typing and then your ability to quickly identify a search match with an answer.

I've tried googling answers, and it's worked about 40 % of the time. You dont have long to type, and it can be hard to get the write googlefu in such a short amount of time.

On the other hand, if you had IBM Watson...

I got to question 10.

It took less than 20 questions to get to a single winner.

Makes me think Google is less of a factor than I thought.

You *can* google the answers sometimes---I've done it, usually one per game. But the question has to be pretty direct, like:
who was president when the international space station launched (google: iss launch)
what is "bibimbap" (or some other odd word)

If you can type quickly without looking at the keyboard you can pull these off.

What's harder is: which band's lead singer has an East African crustacean named after him/her?

It was Queen, which I guessed, since I knew Freddy was born in Zanzibar.

I honestly thought it was Toto because I was playing at the time. I didn't get it wrong, so maybe I don't remember my answer.

Never argue with thib on trivia.

Well, unless it's about Qatar, Kosovo, or famous Jacques-Louis David paintings. :)
