Jim Carrey and Tea Leoni star in this story about what happens to the people who worked for a large corporation that goes under due to a big scandal.
As soon as the movie began and the corporation started to fold I wondered how long before we'd see Bush. It didn't take long. However, it was just a clip of him giving a speech about how the coutry is doing well economically and the speech was obviously from his first year in office. (And since they brought politics in it, I'll point out that nobody mentions that all the illegal stuff occured during the last administration.)
Anyway, all the "funny" is supposed to come from watching these well to-do yuppies struggle to pay their bills. They have trouble finding good jobs, then bad jobs, etc. finally leading to a life of crime. Meanwhile, the former CEO is living the high life living on the former company's money.
This isn't the worst film you'll ever see and there are a couple of chuckles, but I'm not really sure who this film was made to attract. I'd have to guess that the real audience is yuppies who probably aren't huge Carrey fans. Carrey's core audience, those who found him funny in movies like Ace Ventura and Dumb and Dumber, won't find much here to like.
Overall, it's an ok rental if nothing else is in.
3 out of 10.
