If it turned out to be Melrose Space, yeah. Big time.
Again, it feels like the milking of a franchise.... they got lucky and succeeded with a Battlestar Gallactica remake that beat the odds and didn't suck... chances are even greater this new one will suck.
"Be bold, and mighty forces will come to your aid."
Normally I'd be very wary, but with the BSG gang I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. They've done a hell of a job reviving that old franchise and making it something spectacular, when it could have been a total disaster.

But yeah, wouldn't want to revive Firefly or anything.
Well since Fox owns the rights for like another 10 years someone would have to buy it off of them first since whedon aint doing a damn thing with them anytime soon.
Whedon is writing for X-Men now. Not the movie, but the comics.

So, what. One of the most prolific authors in the Marvel universe is Peter David. While he was doing that he was writing Star Trek book, shows and a couple of books outside any franchise sci-fi. I think Whedon has the same energy and creativity.
One of the things that really appeals to me about BSG is the grittiness of the characters. Noone is the perfect role model. Adama has a son who led a mutiny and has had to go back on his command decisions. I can't remember any show where the leader said 'I'm wrong we need to correct this' in such a significant way.
