The producers & writers officially bring Jason back for this. Unfortunately, this is the only redeeming quality of this flick. C.J. Graham doesn't exactly provide the most electrifying performance as the man behind the mask, though.
The writers start delving into the supernatural, which augments a plot & character that has been lacking in original material for some time. It seems these writers are only slightly more competent than the fuckers that used to write the taglines for Count Chocula & Captain Crunch cereal, though.
What Friday 13th III-VII attempted to capture was the spirit & finer points of A Nightmare on Elm Street III. All Jason flicks have failed utterly because the original creators have long since abandoned any semblance of a quality villain. There is no more rhyme or reason as there was (perhaps still is) in Halloween or Freddy. There is only a failed self-mockery of a film.
Verdict : 1.5 stars. I gotta give at least a star cos many a folk dies.
