1. Season passes ... really?

2. Bugs ... yeah, this sucks. But consumers have proven time and time again they'll preorder and pay for shitty software.

3. High cost ... well, sure. But high compared to what?

4. Backwards compatibility ... no one likes buying new games again, but this seems like a minor gripe. Why are you using your XBone to play the original Halo? That's like buying a sports car so you can only drive around on 35mph roads.

5. PC gaming ... are you shitting me? I only know people with desktops because they're IT nerds.

6. No hardware mods ... your dumb ass should've known that before you bought a console.

7. Exclusive content ... again, a minor gripe. I wouldn't say it's "killing" console gaming.

8. Commitment ... uh, no. You can find any number of crappy, low time investment games for a console. If you're buying the next Elder Scrolls game, be prepared to drop 100 hours of your life into it. Or just turn the fucking thing off.

9. Whiners ... the fuck? Everyone had to deal with whiners back when they were playing board games and tag.

10. Cost and disappointment ... maybe you shouldn't have dropped $90 on the special preorder "Call of Duty 19: Blowin' Shit Up Michael Bay Style" or "Madden NFL 2017: We're Not Even Trying Anymore."

I'm truly amazed at how the article turns a blind eye to what's actually killing console gaming ... mobile gaming. Tablets and phones. You can spend hundreds on a new console, plus extra cash on controllers, XBone Live access, shipping your expensive POS back to the mother ship when it breaks, etc. But perhaps you'd like to use a device you already fucking have for equally inane yet cheap entertainment and spend $20 on 10 new games.

I didn't get beyond #5 of the slideshow, but this just happens to be the first time I saw a "console games are dying" instead of the other way around, and found that noteworthy.

You know what's killing the Internet? Slideshows.

And the ads that are getting better than the adblockers.

No kidding. It's just a way to get 10 ad views on the article instead of just the one, anyway. Which of course leads to the value of those ads being 1/10th of what they were before so the end result is no extra money for the site in exchange for annoying the hell out of readers.

Truth. If I click a link and it takes me to a slideshow, unless I'm REALLY into that topic, I'm gone.

More truth. How many "PCs are dying" articles did we read through over the past 10-20 years?

And even for those topics, you're done after what, 1-2 minutes? :)

I don't browse the "sexy chicks" slideshows.

Porn is faster and has fewer ads elsewhere.

Plus the really hot picture is always like #17 of 30 and not worth the effort.
