First, we are WWAAAYYYY too cocky with a couple of battleships. Ya, TWO of them. We knew they were together, we knew their plan, and then we let them execute it!! I blow up, Tas and Tom get away.
I get a new setup, and we set out. Spent a loooong time looking for bad guys. Hunted one for a long time. Got jumped by two battleships again, (one was part of the first two that got me). However, they tried to jam Tom instead of me. His WCS saves him and we all warp out. We leave the system. We hunt again for a long time. Thought we had a bite, but it was a false alarm. We call it a night.
I'm heading to Auruhunen to log again with my loot from last night. I stop at the outpost there just for grins. Couple of newer people with -1.x. I'm chatting with someone from Razor when a 3.0 sec battleship warps in. I don't trust and I start to warp out. I wasn't lined up though and they lock and jam. Fuuuuuuuck me. First instinct was to at least put up a fight. As soon as I clicked the first missle, I SOOOOOO wanted that click back. I just eliminated my option of hitting the jump gate. FUCK me. . . Well, open fire then. I actually take his shields down quick. But, the armor doesn't budge, I'm getting hammered and then he jams me. Blah. I give up. That's when he invites me to a chat. Oh good. My ransom message. I'm not even firing at this point. He asks what my ship is worth to me. I ask how much it's going to cost. He asks how much I have. I said "Not much after two months!". He said "How much?" I said "15 million". He said "All of it". I answer "ALL OF IT?!?!?" He says "10 then." I said "Damn" He said "Up to you. No big deal to me either way." This is all just an attempt to stall. The whole time, I'm flying away from him. I'm heading to a planet, so I'm lined up for warp. I just need to make it to 20km. I say "How do I do it?" He doesn't answer and keeps firing. I say again "HOW!?!?". He stops firing when I'm at 20% structure. He starts counting down from 5. I'm at 12km. I start spamming "HOW HOW HWO WHO HOW" Including the misspellings. He stops counting and I make my second big mistake. I dump my last 800 into my cap and turn my shield booster back on. I'm at 17km. I should have waited. Continued to stall. Then he says "Click on me in local and click give money". I'm at 18km and he puts all his drones on me. He called them off at one point. They aren't firing, but they are orbiting. I have the give money window up and I considered typing 100000 to see if he would miss it buying me a couple more seconds. I'm still at 18km! He said "Do it now" Distance clicks to 19km. FUUUUUCK. My shields had healed to about 40%. If I had one more 800, I could have popped it, turned all resist back on, shield boost on, and I MIGHT have made it to 20km! But, I didn't have it, so I clicked send. I type in "Get it?" He said "Yes, you can go." I say out loud 'fuuuuck you'. But, didn't type that of course. He turned off the jammer and I warp off. ALMOST talked my way out of it. heheh But at least I haggled him down from 15 to 10!!
Ya, good times. Can't wait to kill that fucker. . . I WILL take a sec hit that day.
Ernest (from Razor) was one jump away. He was gonna try to help. But, I knew that unless he could lock and jam the BS in less than 10 seconds, the BS would kill me and lock him up too. So, I told him not to bother.
Whole time I weighing if I want to give him a sec hit, or avoid having to reshop for equipment. I decided that his battleship would make up for the sec hit in no time. So, 10 million was better than dying. I'll have to get him later.
OOOOhhhhh ya. At least I laid the final blow on Grimmus!!
Going back to ratting till I have enough to have a second Ferox waiting in the stalls.
