You got your $900 bucks for the PS3. - That doesn't include the hard drive.

Mostly PC, but console and mobile too

Of course all console makers sell the systems at a loss. It is estimated that MS is selling $500 worth of stuff for $400 so I guess that means that the $900 PS3 will only cost $800 and that is without the hard drive.

I love console games but it will be a cold day in hell before I pay $800 for a system. Unless it is the year 3000 and $800 bucks is only a couple bucks in todays dollars.

I know there are die hards out there but sony is going to have a to take a huge loss on these things if people are going to buy them.

I was reading an article about this the other night. Nobody knows how Sony is going to price this thing because like you pointed out, to stay competitive, they have to take a huge loss on each unit.
