That jives with my TIE Fighter flight sim memories but I thought it was a cargo ship, and a quick check of the Star Wars wiki agrees. I'm unsure why I never put the two shapes together. Fuckloads of escort missions for slow-ass freighters in that game. A few YT-1300s as well. Fucking things were always speedy bastards you had to disable.
