I'm just not sure it's professional enough.

One note about the eBay value of things: EO apparently bans all outside of game trading/selling/etc.

For sellers: they will cancel accounts
For buyers: they will reposses anything purchased outside of game

Just as an FYI.

I read that they were just starting to do a big push for that recently, cool, hopefully will fix the gold farmers and shit.

They do support the selling of Characters for ISK tho, I read that the going prices were about 100m for each 1m of SP.

I think it costs about 15 dollars or so to do, but they even protect you from fraud, and make sure the exchange occurs well for both parties.

I fully support the selling of items on ebay. It allows those with more money than time to enjoy games the way they want to. The only people that cry about ebay are the people that want to make things that much easier for themselves by eliminating competition through non-game means.

Just last night I stuck up a bid on eBay for the heck of it. We'll see what happens.

I DID buy something silly already: the location and passcode to a container somewhere in emperial space with unkown conents. If the feedback is reliable, then I'll get something interesting for my money and trouble.

I agree, Cake. Gold farmers dont' take anything away from an in-game economy, they just spread it around. If they weren't buying it from gold farmers they'd be out getting it themselves instead, so there'd still be just as many people camping the Great Money Beast spawn, just different people.

All the problems blamed on gold farmers in MMOGs are, without exception, the fault of the developers: overcrowding, bad economy design, etc. Gold farmers are just a convenient target.

I don't see a problem with gold farmers. I think it's a self-correcting problem.

Or at least it could be.

By the way, comments on the website? Gonna post some stuff about the other encounters/outings as well. But, just wanted to get something up there for starters. Anyone want to take over and design a better one?!

The mechanics of the things are fine, but we need an artist.

Simple is good, you can always add some more graphics and what not as you get back into it.

It's the words that really matter, anyway.

You're just saying that because most of the words are yours. . .

And I'm just saying that because I redid the mechanics of the page. :-)

But really, I was going for the most simple design possible. I think less is more when it comes to web pages. Now.

I agree. Some people have crazy stupid amounts of time (like college students... Troy) :), other people have money. We all use our resources as we see fit.

If they don't want "gold farmers," stop the activities that lead to it.

I've always liked the idea of closing the economy... no more abundant, free gold to be found.

Some new wealth, absolutely. But maybe 2% of current levels.

It'd be hard to imagine someone getting a closed economy right.

With (automated?) gold farming happening, inflation happens, no? It's like the US government running the presses at the mint 24/7 making new money.

Right, but with a closed economy, how is wealth created?

People are saying that while the amount of ISK as gone up with the population, used to be like7-8k, now upwards of 24k during peak hours, the amount of Tech 2 BPOs has not.

Thus there is a stranglehold on the Higher level tech 2 stuff, which only the older vets would have. Also, since it isn't in proportion with players, the prices have been skyrocketing as late.

You can take that as you will, either good or bad.

So you're saying that demand has increased, and the supply is controlled by a constant number of vets?
