Have a Compaq in shop.
The HD is f'd up, so we ordered the recovery CD's from Compaq. It arrived, and we opened the package with the 7 discs; disk #2 was for Micosoft Works. WTF?
How can they make that mistake?

If it did, it's build into the 7 CD's. It's not a seperate installation.
They gave me, in order, and wrapped together:
Compaq Restoration CD #1
Microsoft Works Installation CD #2
Compaq Restoration CD #3
Compaq Restoration CD #4
Compaq Restoration CD #5
Compaq Restoration CD #6
Compaq Restoration CD #7

I checked. It comes with WordPerfect, not Works.

I remember when you would actually get a CD with the operating system on it.

I also remember when recovery cd's used to be included when you bought the system.
