ArcheAge - Formerly: "So I've been playing..."
So, found out why the servers went down tonight. Or at least I think I did. There were some MAJOR exploits being used. Just watched a youtube video of one.
Buy an apex.
Go to a mirage island gate.
Click on your apex.
While it's opening, go through the mirage gate.
When you get to the other side, you will have 1250 more credits AND the apex is still in your inventory.
Repeat as much as you want.
Another one was where you could buy those random drop boxes. Fill your inventory, but have items that you want to get from the boxes in your inventory. Open the box. If you get the item you wanted, it will stack with the item in your inventory. If you didn't, it would say "inventory full" and not use the box. Repeat until you get what you want. For advanced users who know the box drops multiple items, you can farm items as long as at least one of the items in the box is NOT in your inventory. So, you can farm multiple items from the RNG boxes on the market, for free.
I guess both of these have been in the game since launch and that's why there were so many rumble trees for sale so cheap.

We usually are on between 9-10 Gordo and then until quitting time.
Heard about the exploits. I wonder if bans will come for those doing it? Or some in game compensation for those that weren't?
Ouche paid me last night. Said he made 500gp that day.
That Hasla trip was solid. I got my T1 lute, killed a dozen reds, killed a Blank or two, etc. it was weird fighting Blank then 5 minutes later fighting with them against reds. They were even throwing heals and buffs at me.

In other news, ACE broke up. Some of the upper management were having a discussion about the direction of the guild. Some of them were tired of the 'whatever' guild and wanted to get organized. Set goals. Accomplish something. Others didn't. So they split up tonight. Some are in <who cares> and not sure what the other part is called. I don't know all the details or what this all means. But, Larry (the GM of ACE) was talking to Scooty about it, so it sounds like they want to still include us on stuff. It also sounds like they want to distance themselves from the name ACE. But not sure what's that's supposed to mean. Did they surrender?!
More as it comes in.
Personally, I see us running with both. I don't mind doing trade runs, etc. And I like PVP and pirating. So, I think we'll fit in with both still.

There are a lot of new guilds running around, and I don't think it's an influx of new players. I think we're seeing the rename game as folks are trying to distance themselves from their reputations.
That spot Scooty found isn't secret. Cake, you and I have been there before. Although, I would bet that most players don't know about it.
I wasn't paying attention when those reds attacked. I was putting the final hit on the flower monster when someone shot me in the back. I turned around and saw a red. I immediately engaged the guy who shot me and hit him twice with my two power shots dropping him under 50% health. He did the backwards flip thing and ran. I chased and he went into a group of more reds and one was fighting a green. I engaged him and we took him down. Two more were low health (they must have been fighting you guys) and I quickly power shot both of them for kills. I either got the kill shot on that first guy or took down another when they started attacking in a group because I saw that my kills jumped by 3. Anyway, when I died I thought, "Why is nobody helping?" and spun the camera around to see nothing but red in every direction. Then I noticed Scooty's comments in the chat window and I laughed.
How did you buy the rest of your tokens? Did you use the conversion thing? How much did that cost?
I want to continue hitting Hasla and the war in Halycona as much as possible. I want to get my next level Hasla bow, the sword, and the necklace for reduced damage. I'm really enjoying the PvP right now, it's just so much fun in this game.
One thing I will note is we need better armor. Stranger, stop being so lazy and get on that!

I can craft up to magnificent leather for anyone that wants it, but I can't afford all the materials for ya. If you guys want gather the mats and I'd be more than happy to craft them. The big expenses for illustrious are small seed oils, viscous glossy oil and of course the moonlight archeum crystals. haven't even looked at what the magnificent armors need, not to that point yet.
When you craft Illustrious on up you will get one of 4 results from the craft, Typhoon, Desert, Lightning or Squall. All have different stats. I'm just now to the point that I can craft my full Illustrious set.
WORLD CHAMPIONS!!
How does that stuff compare to the Buried Legend leather set? What level of crafting do we need to get you to before you're exceeding that set?
People in chat this morning discussing Ace. They say LarryButz formed <unity> which is the green guild. No word on the other guild's name.
Apparently, there was another rounds of bannings with this patch. It's been said mileycyrus was one of them and a few other Ace folks.

How does that stuff compare to the Buried Legend leather set?
Well, the base armor and magic defense on the Illustrious set is about 30 points higher than the Buried Legends set, but I believe the set we got had some pieces that were heroic and other pieces were just grand or rare. So I'd say the defense and magic defense between the two sets are very similar as a whole. The big difference between the sets are as follows, now this will be for each piece being of Arcane rarity, seems like a happy medium to go by.
Buried Legends Jerkin: d/mDef- 442.. agility- 101.. set effect- +health and mana regen
Illustrious Typhoon Jerkin: d/mDef- 478.. str-46.. agi-38.. stam-31.. set effect +evasion and crit dmg.
Illustrious Squall Jerkin: d/mDef-478.. agi-69.. stam-46.. set effect +evasion and attack speed.
Illustrious Lightning Jerkin: d/mDef-478.. str-69.. agi-46.. set effect +move speed and attack speed
Illustrious Desert Jerkin: d/mDef-478.. str-69.. stam-46.. set effect +health regen and attack.
So all in all I'd say both sets are pretty similar, I noticed that the buried legends set has a mish mash of different stats that it boosts. Like the jerking gives a lot of agility and the leggings gives stamina, int, and spirit. I don't think there would be a big difference that we would notice between the Illustrious and Buried Legends sets, just some of your stats might be distributed differently. But I'd expect the magnificent set to be better in every way.
WORLD CHAMPIONS!!
The one stat I'd watch is agility. The whole point of leather is for better ranged combat and overall defense. Agility is the key stat for that. Every 2 points of agility is a damage boost.
We will need a full set of the best plate for our designated tank at some point too.
You know that giant golem that shows up during the Hasla Rift? I've seen it fought twice now.
The first time it was attacked by more greens than I've ever seen in Hasla before. They had it down to about 50% health, and then it decided play time was over and beat the shit out of everybody.
The second time was this weekend and I'd say there were no more than 20 guys attacking it. (Cake and I included.) A guy from Blank tanked it and took all the damage the whole time. It was ridiculous. The golem was still killing other folks with his random earthquake attack, but I don't think that guy tanking died once. I lost track of him through the battle, but I base that on the fact that the golem never attacked anyone else and seemed to stay focused on one person the whole time.

agreed.. While the Buried Legend set prolly gives the most agility, the set effect blows. +health and mana regen doesn't help you during combat. Personally I like the Typhoon or Squall set, the Typhoon has the lowest agility per piece, but that bonus crit dmg can really spike peeps.
and this is what each stat does just incase you didn't already know:
Strength: Increases melee attack +0.2 per point, parry rate, melee accuracy, and melee/ranged block rate.
Intelligence: Increases magic attack +0.2 per point, max mana, magic accuracy, magic/ranged evasion, and magic/ranged critical rates.
Agility: Increases ranged attack +0.2 per point, ranged accuracy, melee/ranged evasion, melee/ranged critical rates.
Spirit: Increases healing power +0.2 per point, magic defense +1 per point, health/mana regen, and all accuracy.
Stamina: Increases max health + 12 per point, and parry.

I knew that spot wasn't secret. But there wasn't anyone there, so it was at that moment.
Those reds attacked us and I turned to see you with your back to us. We were all fighting, just not focusing. That's why you saw a few low heath guys to finish off. We need to make it a habit to be in TS. Even if we aren't actively fighting, just be there.
Are you taking the GHA armor into account, or are you talking only about the Hasla armor we have now?
Scooty is trying to recruit to TKV. He's mainly going after higher level people, I think. So, in an effort to help with that, I'm going to be in TS more often to meet/greet and stuff. One new guy joined last night and was pretty chatty. But, I learned some stuff, so that was cool. He mentioned a Sunridge Ingot being worth 180g. That sounded interesting and so I looked it up. Turned out, I had all the materials to make one, so I did. Sold mine for 180g. (160g after all the fucking fees. Next one it being sold via chat.) They are actually easy for me to make since I can make all the potions that go into them. But a lot of the talk was him talking about past guilds and stuff. He wasn't as chatty as that guy from LoL. But anyway, if we could be in TS more so we can coordinate stuff, that would be cool.

Ok, the guild is actually growing. Given that, I have a small request:
Can this thread be moved to private, since we have talked about people in it and I don't want them to read it.
Also, can we invite guild members here to participate in guild/game discussions? I know know what overhead is involved in people joining the message board and getting access to the appropriate forums.

Moved and unmoved. I want to get things straight before we go moving this away because clearly we want to make sure the proper folks have the proper access.
Let's do a test: If you're reading this and can't see the "League of the EVE of UO Galaxies" forum, let me know.
I think Gordo approves the new people on the forum? I think he has a group that limits folks to General, Movies, Feedback, and Games or something like that. Do we want to put these new folks into that group or limit them even further to just the Games forum?
Should we create a new ArcheAge thread in Games and/or a TKV one?
Also, how does one craft the other trade packs that are always selling for 130%? The stations only ever give me two options.

I was only comparing the Hasla armor we have now (Buried Legends) to the crafted Illustrious set. They seem to be very similar, the Buried Legends set is level 38 and Illustrious is level 41. Whereas the crafted Magnificent set and GHA armor, called High Inquisitors for the leather set are both level 44 armors.
Also, how does one craft the other trade packs that are always selling for 130%? The stations only ever give me two options.
You would have to craft another trade pack in another area. In each area you can only craft two different types of trade packs, in Two Crowns its the Pomme cakes and Two Crowns cream.
