The next Elon will have a company that develops viable teleporters.

Despite Elon's influence, my twitter is more left wing than right, and there exists very little sympathy for the port strikers from what I've seen.

I am generally supportive of unions to an extent, but JFC.

Are the unions at ports still mobbed up? That's the cliche.

Racist.

This is why I've always said unions are the living embodiment of "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". The concept is very strong. The execution, not so much.

Probably because you fuckers keep living beyond your means. Stop it!
”This one weird trick…”
I should honestly make my own.
"Are you struggling with CC debt? For a one time fee of $20 I will teach you how to beat those bills."
They sign up.
"This is all your fault because you're lazy and playing an unwinnable game of 'Keeping up with the Joneses'. Stop DoorDashing all your meals. Stop buying the latest phone the second it comes out. Name brand is low quality shit that you pay more for because of a logo. If you think people are only going to care about you because you wear name brand, then those people suck and you don't need them in your life. Unsubscribe from the OF model. Improve your skills and get a better paying job. Get used to eating PB&Js as you work your way out of debt. You don't need a $13 Frappuccino everyday. It's just making you broke and fat. That knock off brand at the grocery store is the same product as the name brand. Same manufacturer and everything. Etc."

I recently tried to explain to someone about "delay of gratification," and "fairness." I don't know if anything sunk in, but I went like this:
Two guys are roommates and work at the same place.
They each make $1000 per month.
After they pay their bills for the month, they each have $200 left.
Guy 1 spends his all on weed, and spends his evenings getting baked.
Guy 2 likes weed too, but saves his extra money because he wants different things in the future.
In a year, Guy 1 has had a great, chill year smokin up erry day.
Guy 2 takes his $2400 and puts a down payment on a nice car.
Guy 1 says, "Hey, it's not fair that you have that money for a car. You need to share the car with me."
Guy 2 hasn't been smoking weed all year and has no idea how to respond in a non-chill way and he yells about Guy 1 being an idiot with no self control, and it ruins the friendship.
++++
What I always think about when I hear people complain about money and fairness. I think about how I don't drink and smoke or do drugs or hit starbucks or eat avocado toast, instead I save my extra pennies and go on a neat trip once a year. "Must be nice to be able to afford those vacations," they say as they take another drag on their cigarette for dramatic effect.
"Well geez gordo who are you to tell people what they can spend their money on to make life more bearable?"
I'm the guy getting a ration of shit for not spending money on vices, and instead saving for the future.
