Additionally, much cooler up there than the places Thib listed as similarly dense, yet less infected.

Lots of words about vaccines ready in Fall or September/October. No idea in what quantities (or how effective)

This is not a stupid theory.GORDON wrote: I have a theory about NYC's wack infection numbers.
I always assumed someplace like NYC would be the ultimate Tinder/anonymous sex locale.
And I think 20-something are still fucking like rabbits, because their feels of sad is making them need validation through sex. So I theorize they're spreading that virus like crazy, in spite of the lockdown.

I think it's cold weather + subway + crowded restaurants. They also were in denial for quite a while for a major city. Got enough initial infections so that it spread to people within households when they finally ordered the lock-down.
Any-place where people are packed together and sharing air is a hot spot. NY has a bunch. CA, surprisingly is a heavy car culture, and the only cities that had major public transportation went full lock down and even work-from-home weeks before everyone else. LA waited a bit and is our bad spot.

Long post on ending lockdown including lots of SCIENCE1!! Most importantly:
We need to fight back against the entire concept of “disinformation”. Centralized authorities should not be allowed to decide what truth is, that is for each rational individual to decide for themselves. Solving this problem is outside of the scope of the article, but needless to say, we believe this represents an existential threat to the fabric of our democratic republic.
These policies of censorship are particularly ironic when viewed in the lens of WHO’s pattern of lying by omission: making statements that are technically true but omit important facts that would lead to a differing conclusion. The most egregious is the WHO statement that “there is currently no evidence that people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies are protected from a second infection” (article). Unlike other WHO statements, this statement was not a lie by omission, it was an outright lie based off what we knew at the time, and it forms part of a persistent pattern on part of the WHO to advocate for totalitarian policies while ironically having initially discouraged countries from closing borders during a global pandemic

This statement confuses me. South Korea and China have reported people who have recovered are getting it a second time. So are they lying? Is the WHO? Does this guy just have his facts wrong?thibodeaux wrote: The most egregious is the WHO statement that “there is currently no evidence that people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies are protected from a second infection” (article). I could not agree with this more.We don’t defeat bad ideas by censoring them, we defeat them by shining a light on them.

I DONT THINK THIS IS TRUE, but one could make an argument that the things we're seeing today are a practice run for a world takeover.
Re: reinfection: I saw an article yesterday that stated all "tested positive again" were in error, and they were picking up virus remnants from the first, and only, infection.

I have an issue with the word "rational" and qualifying people as such.

This is incompatible with our American ideal of equality. I mean, I'm cool with returning to the days when only rich white men (e.g., you and me) had a say, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards now does it.

I don't count on everyone thinking for themselves and then acting on it. Too many stupid people will do stupid things that affect me. I certainly don't count on the government to do it either as it's full of stupid people. If only we would elect good people who were smart, thoughtful, and good instead of the most charismatic person with 'my letter of choice' behind their name.

Nobody spends a million dollars to get a job that pays $250k because they want to Do Good. Letters behind the name don't matter.

I did not know that. Not sure how I feel about it. But, also trying to figure out how I feel about the police "reminding" them instead of citations? or arrests?A small group of about 10 people has gathered in downtown Raleigh to protest their first and second amendment rights. Most people in the group were carrying guns and wearing masks. Police spoke to them, reminding them it is against the law to protest while carrying a gun.

I don't have a problem with police deescalating situations, instead of engaging in confrontations. worst case, running gun battle. Best case, shitloads of paperwork with incarcerated people and guns.

Preach.

Yep. Nobody was being threatened or hurt, so the cops went in and simply explained the laws and asked the protesters to comply. They did. End of issue.

Whitmer uses executive order to extend MI lockdown to May 28th.
I'm extremely confused as to what the rules are at this point. I went to a local restaurant this morning, like I do every Friday, and they were now allowing people in for carryout if they have a mask.
Also, golf courses are now opening, so my league starts Wednesday. Although, the clubhouse will be closed and no beer carts. However, you're only allowed 1 person per cart unless both are wearing masks. Meanwhile, they are still only allowing 2 carts per foursome. That being said, the course has straight up admitted that they don't have the ability to enforce those rules.

To be clear: 3 hours later, the protesters are still there, and still armed. They did not comply, they did not leave.
Gilead wants to remind everyone that it needs to get paid for treatment. Where's the Trump DPA tweet threat now?

Well at this point I'll only have respect for the protesters if they open fire into the legislature. They're all bark no bite.
