You've never met out school system. It's the literal worst in terms of leadership.

So if things DO get super-bad, should they prioritize respirators for people who do not, and have never, smoked?

Because I vote yes, no question.

WIll the school district count that, when it's time to decide who goes to the next grade?

I kinda lean toward "too bad." People still knew smoking would kill you in 2000. Now they can experience the consequences.

And I think vaping counts.

Don't know, don't care. If they say our kids have to repeat, I'll tell them to eat a dick. Our youngest already skipped one year of math. If we really did teach them now til Fall she could probably skip another year.

I'm going to disagree. Anything during/before age 25 doesn't count. Cuz that's when I quit smoking :)

12 month break on mortgage payments???

https://www.npr.org/2020/03/19/81834372 ... gage-break

Isn't making a payment on your home loan that which makes capital available for other investment?

Economy's getting fuuuuuucked.

Email it to me though.

We're working on an exemption for our company due to our importance to agriculture, and thus, the food supply, but no idea if that'll go through. Now that CA and NY are both locked down, I expect OH will be doing so pretty shortly.

School Stuff -
No idea what they're going to do for the kids in OH or MI.

Still hot, but clearly dumb as fuck.

First of all, this is dumb because a large number of things can kill you just as easily as smoking. Do you engage in unprotected sex? Eat a high fat, high sugar diet? Drive? Avoid the flu shot? Not exercise? And about a billion more...

Secondly, the second you start making distinctions between people in that manner you'd better be armed and ready for the inevitable. People aren't just going to say, "Oh yeah, that's fair. I smoked, so I deserve to die while you live."

Choosing to smoke is directly related to respirator shortage/usage. People who didn't purposely thrash their lungs should absolutely have dibs on respirators.

Not saying no respirators at all. Saying priority.

You're still going to get shot.

BTW, I totally agree with you. I'm just discussing the reality of the situation.

People who quit 20 years have lungs indistinguishable from non-smokers.
After 20 years, the risk of death from smoking-related causes, including both lung disease and cancer, drops to the level of a person who has never smoked in their life.

Oh sweet February, back when I didn't know I was buying quarantine prep, and I thought I was just stocking up for our public transportation commute.

Symptoms and when to seek help.

Surgeon General wants Kylie Jenner to use her influence to help spread the word about how dangerous this situation is.

Reasons why people are ignoring advice.

Interesting list, and not many I really disagree with, but this one was the most interesting to me:
“In our good fortune, we may have lost touch with just how wrong the world can go. It’s easy to forget that most of human history has been characterized more by hunger, disease, privation, suffering and war than by our comparative comfort.”
I could not agree more, and it such a perfect summary to explain other things, like the anti-gun crowd.

Jokes aside, Vice can go fuck themselves. Yeah, it's a global pandemic. People are dying and being crippled (lung function) for life. A transvestite's transition is not more important than that.
