Kavanaugh and Ford both provide evidence to back their story.

Ford gave over 4 (or 5?) statements from her husband and friends all claiming they knew of the story. Note: None were in the room or even at the party, so in a court of law their statements are worthless.

Kavanaugh provided his calendar from that year. The other guy in the room during the alleged assault also sent a letter saying he does not remember any assault.

Also, Kavanaugh's second accuser who claims to have seen his dick at a drunken college party is now admitting that the details of the night elude her because she was wasted and doesn't remember the whole evening.

Again, the ONLY court where Kavanaugh could be found guilty of anything with this "evidence" is the court of public opinion. Thus, the Republicans are right to end this circus and hold a vote.

The women were (are being) heard. There's just not much here, and no reason to hold up.

Trump says China is meddling in our elections.
"Regrettably we found that China has been attempting to interfere in our upcoming 2018 election, coming up in November," Trump said.

He went on, "They do not want me or us to win because I am the first president ever to challenge China on trade and we are winning on trade. We are winning on every level. We don't want them to meddle or interfere in our upcoming elections."
In another article, it was mentioned that China was taking on our farmers, etc, which basically sounded like the trade war. I cannot find any other details about what he meant.

We already subsidize farmers so hard (don't we?), what could China possibly do?

Block their imports, so we can subsidize them even more?

At this point, I don't believe anyone coming forward. Sorry, but a Dem senator sat on Ford's allegations for months in a clear stall tactic. The once Ford's claims started losing steam, a new, far more suspect claim comes in. Once that one lost steam and the Republicans pushed forward with a vote, now there's another new allegation?

I don't think so.

It is a crime to falsely report a crime. We need legislation to make falsely making accusations a crime too.

I wish we, as a society, had the ability to FF through time and see what the Dems do with the next candidate (if they succeed in derailing Kavanaugh). Guaranteed it would be more of the same.

Republicans should be investigating all these women's voting records and their potential links to Dems in power.

There are relevant laws. Especially since the third accusation is a sworn affidavit, right?

The allegations were detailed in an affidavit, signed under penalty of perjury, that was released by Swetnick's lawyer, Michael Avenatti. Her statement was sent to a senior staffer on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Maybe only because of the sworn affidavit, but there are still issues:
1. It's impossible to prove she's telling the truth or lying.
1a. Thus, she can almost say anything without fear of reprisal.
2. His alleged actions for someone that age wouldn't exactly be out of the norm, nor would they be far from the truth if she was exaggerating them.
3. The law doesn't mean shit in this #metoo era. Remember when Angel (David B.) was blackmailed for money or the girl he had an affair with would go to the press? Blackmail isn't legal, but her attorney was Gloria whatsherface, so I guess that made it legal. He went public instead of paying.

Yeah, this one is the least credible to me. She's three years older than Kavanaugh. So she's a college gal hanging out with some high school kids? And she's been to about 10 of these parties where she claims they're getting the girls hammered and pulling a train on them. So she keeps going and is mortified that she got hammered and they pulled a train on her?

Also, no one's been able to find a copy of the "sworn affidavit" where it's been notarized which would be required for it to be a sworn affidavit.

I think Avenatti is within 12 months of disbarment.

Holy shit, when I read your comment I thought, "They probably need to cut this guy lose at this point."

After reading the article, this is literally just random people making shit up. This is beyond insanity.

Yeah, I think the "#MeToo" movement has been brutalized with this. The talking point that women don't make up these stories has been taken to a domestic abuse shelter. It will be at least another 20 years before anything like this will have legs against any nominee without some pretty serious supporting evidence.

Also, reading over Ms. Ford's released opening statement, she doesn't state that she named Kavanaugh by name to anyone as her assaulter until he'd been nominated already. Initially she'd said that she'd made the comment that she hoped Trump didn't nominate Kavanaugh after Trump's election until it was pointed out that Kavanaugh wasn't on the long list of SCOTUS judges up for consideration. He was added a year later.

This is such an obvious hatchet job that it's embarrassing. Will still be surprised if Ford shows up today.
