Seems to me it might be easy to program an AI to have ambition but hard to program empathy.

Given my experience with robotics, I'm inclined to agree. However, Elon Musk and Ray Kurzweil are way smarter than me, so I will listen respectfully to their opinions on any topic.

Made a joke about flamethrowers and is now selling them.

Also, Randy Pitchford said they are going to put them into the next Borderlands and want Elon to write the marketing info for the gun.

On the Twitters, there is some random @erinscafe who actually attended the live public conference about Elon's proposed tunnel to funnel traffic from Hollywood to LA.

Go check his/her feed, it's comedy gold. Based on their comments, Elon should run for office because he's out there solving problems that don't exist by throwing money at them.
