Every time I've ever heard Savage's name, I always thought of hearing him on late at night talking about aliens and government conspiracies. I always laughed that the only way this show got airtime was late at night.

If that wasn't him, I have no idea who Michael Savage is...
Art Bell hasn't been on that show for a while. The actual show name was "Coast to Coast AM" and was taken over by George Noory. I used to listen back in the day. It was the conspiracy and alien show. I listened for fun like flipping through the Enquirer. Was good radio entertainment.

Michael Savage was terrestrial radio when I heard him. I don't know what time his broadcast was, but I always heard it early evenings around the same time as Mark Levin is now days. Savage was always political on national radio, though he was prone to jumping into political conspiracies at times if I recall.

Today's "blow something Trump did out of proportion" story.

I guess sarcastic jokes are only acceptable when used against Republicans?

Trump being on vacation is leaving the press with less to work with than usual.

Trump's being criticized for not saying "white supremacists" in condemning the violence in Charlottesville. And that criticism isn't wrong.

However, I didn't hear anyone in the MSM criticizing Obama when he made bigoted statements about southerners, anyone not a Democrat, religious folks, gun owners, Tea Party members, etc.

Obama didn't tweet at 330 am like an insomniac meth-head.

President Donald Trump lashed out about the criticism of his initial statement about the Charlottesville violence today and quickly went on to blame both sides of protestors for the conflict, adding that there were “very fine people” in both the group of white supremacists and white nationalists as well as the counterprotesters.

“I think there is blame on both sides. You look at both sides. I think there is blame object on both sides,” Trump said during remarks in Trump Tower today.

“You had some very bad people in that group. You also had some very fine people on both sides,” he said.
He went on to question why the statue of Civil War Gen. Robert E. Lee, which prompted the protest in the first place, was being removed.
I'm ready for all these monuments to be removed.

Very fine people on both sides? Somehow I'm not shocked he said this. One has to begin to think his flabbergasting propensity for saying the stupiest shit possible is almost planned.

Just wow.
"I think there's blame on both sides. And I have no doubt about it," Drumpf said.

“You had a group on one side that was bad and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent," he added. "No one wants to say that, but I’ll say it right now: You had a group on the other side that came charging in without a permit and they were very, very violent.”
I'll be damned, but I believe the right to free assembly is written down somewhere. But hold on, because motherfucking lightning might be striking him soon.
He had faced mounting pressure from lawmakers and civil rights groups over his failure to do so during his initial reaction to the violence, when he denounced violence “on many sides.”

But Tuesday, Drumpf defended his handling of the Charlottesville situation, stating he did not want to jump to conclusions in his initial remarks. “There was no way of making a correct statement that early,” he said in an impromptu news conference in the lobby of Drumpf Tower, after an announcement about infrastructure. “I had to see the facts, unlike a lot of reporters.”
A few thoughts:

1) He wouldn't know what the fuck a fact looked like.
2) His definition of "fact" is "anything that makes him look good at the moment."
3) At no point in motherfucking history has he ever decided to hold his tongue to get a handle on a situation before spouting off like a retarded twitter volcano.

The article ends with shots from a couple Congressmen and a thumbs up from David Duke. Yes, that David Duke.

His public statements make W's look like Obama's.

Although, to be fair, considering antifa was there, he's not completely wrong about bad people being on both sides. But to then turn around and say "good people on both sides" when the sides were antifa and white supremacists is pretty stupid.

To be fair to his critics, I didn't see a lot of people other than Nazis and KKK on the protesters side. There seemed to be a lot of non-Antifa in the counter protesters. And that seems to be Antifa's methodology. They find a group of protesters and join in and turn everything to shit quickly. Not many decent people see a group of Nazis and KKK and say, "Hey, I think I'll join their march". Even if they are sympathetic to the idea of keeping the Confederate statues.

Now, to be fair to Trump, if we've learned anything from the last few months, it's that he's not very good at this. At all. If anyone is shocked that he made dumb ass comments after the incident, they really haven't been paying attention. The only thing about it that shocked me was how quickly he decided to nuke the decent prepared remarks he gave on Monday. That seems to be a new personal best on that record.

Also to be fair to Trump, there were in fact bad people on both sides over the weekend. You don't have to make that argument and open yourself up to being slammed like he did. Since you run DoJ and the FBI, have them investigate all the bad guys and bring charges where appropriate. Then they can take the credit and/or blame after emotions have cooled down. Sometimes it seems like Trump doesn't understand that he actually won the Presidency.

Interesting that 2017 is the year we stopped pretending the other side are "human" by removing war memorials to enemy generals.

I'm still trying to formulate my thoughts of the last few days. I already thought about the comparison to the Taliban destroying ancient, non-muslim art, then I saw it's already being done.

I dunno. Trump will just win bigger next time with the backlash, I guess.

That's an insane comparison.

It's not like having Hitler monuments, but it's closer to that than non-Muslim art. Confederates believed in the subjugation of another race, rather than it's eradication.

The majority of these confederate statues were not erected as museums or historical tributes, but rather to remind darkies where they belonged. Like the confederate flag rising in South Carolina in 1961.

Remove all the memorials. Stick them on battlefields or in museums. They don't belong in public.

if you say so.

also, stick with the "insane" terminology. it's a good way to persuade people to your point of view.

I didn't say you were insane, I said the comparison was. But if you really think they are similar...
