Apparently DVD sales have gotten investor attention.

Well, shit, I thought this was already being filmed. He's just getting investors? Fuck, that's at least two years off, then.

I wasn't a big fan of the last movie. They over complicated it.

There needed to be another step between Pitch Black and Chronicles, to prepare us for all the Neromonger crap.

I dunno what the fuck happened during the making of "Chronicles," but damn, it was a couple orders of magnitude less enjoyable than "Pitch Black." I could even buy the Grand Marshall's celerity & soul-stealing shit, but as I've stated many times before, there's a few scenes whose shitiness just overshadow everything else. If they were just throwaway scenes, it'd be different. But they were all at critical junctures.

I've been waiting for a decent sequel since "Pitch Black." PG-13 would kill any desire I've got to see it, though.

But if another movie surfaces, it probably won't be a Universal movie and probably will be an independent movie. Which means we'll have to make it for substantially less than the last installment. But that's okay. PITCH BLACK was $22 million all in. Maybe it's time to go back to our roots – as we go on to The UnderVerse.

I like the sound of this.

When it comes to good sci-fi, IMO less is more. Give these guys money and they get caught up in the visuals and forget to make an actual good movie to put them in. Maybe taking some of that money away will solve the problem.

Diesel says they may begin filming this summer, but if they want to go for a rated R, Diesel will have to work for scale.

For some reason.

I can't imagine he's really hurting for money, so he might go for it.

There are some production pics here. Also no word yet on the rating.

Looks like it's back to the roots, and a lot more like the first one?

Their IP dudes are probably worried about the aliens looking too much like "Aliens".

Long as angsty rage doesn't literally erupt from Riddick and take out his enemies as a convenient plot device, I'm not giving two shits in a communal latrine about the aliens.
