Wacky adventures of a Maiden of Honor and the bridesmaids. A little raunchy at points.
I have no idea why this movie was hyped by my wife and her friends as hard as it was. It was pretty funny, funnier than average, even, but I honestly expected the funniest goddam movie ever made, or ever will be made, by how it was described to me. Over and over. A lot.
It wasn't.

This movie was very funny, but that's about it. Maybe particularly funny for a chick flick type of thing.
Enjoyed it, but wouldn't see it again. Not super memorable.

No argument here.
I would actually describe it as more of a dramedy.
Unless Melissa McCarthy is in the scene, you can just assume it's in drama mode.
Doesn't live up to the ridiculously massive hype.

There was so much hype because it was women being funny.
Doesn't matter how well the bear dances, it only matters that the bear can dance.

Not that there aren't some damn funny women out there, mind you. Lee Newton is an excellent example.
But most women who are even slightly attractive have the sense of humor of a walnut. Comes from getting their positive social feedback from their looks instead of having to grow an interesting personality or learn to be funny.

I think Tosh sums it up properly: "Women aren't funny."
