Article.
Quite honestly, this is what needs to be done.
Superman Returns was nothing more than Superman with different actors.
A trilogy filmed all at once with a good storyline, good villains (using Lex is fine, but where is Brainiac, Parasite, Doomsday, etc.), the same actors, and more action would get more people's attention than another storyline where Superman and Lex talk each other to death.

Confirmed.
This will be the third launch of Superman. I really suggest they skip the origin story and just get right to the action this time. Everyone knows who Superman is and where he comes from. We don't need more chats with Ma and Pa Kent and super teen angst.

Ok, so they're going to reboot Superman and the studio's president wants to make it edgier like Batman. All good.
Now they've brought on Christopher Nolan to oversee the film. He won't actually be writing or anything, just helping out where needed to ensure the film doesn't fail.
It seems like they're actually trying to make a good film.

They have a story and it's standalone, meaning it doesn't tie in with the first 5. That's good.
Nolan points out that Superman is "the only hero in his world". That I don't get.
Marvel is currently making it's films acknowledge other heroes with cameos, mentions, props in the background, etc. they're building up to "The Avengers" movie. DC was doing the same heading up to a Justice League movie. I can only assume they're not doing this is because they weren't smart enough to lock up the actors like Marvel. The talk on the DC Justice League movie is that all the characters would be played by other actors and not the ones playing them in solo movies.
And while we're talking Superman, can everyone please stop saying Superman Returns was a sequel to the original Superman. It wasn't a sequel, it was the EXACT SAME MOVIE!!!

I don't think the original movie worked so hard to make Superman into Jesus Christ.

As long as there's a giant spider in the 3rd act, we're cool.

It's like they said, "Ok, the original suit just isn't gay enough... how can we fix that?"

WB/DC and the Siegals have been in court forever arguing over who owns Superman...
Judge rules that WB/DC owns half of Superman.
So what does that mean? Years of more trials? If they each own 50% can one do anything with the character without the other? Could the Siegals allow Superman to appear in the next Avengers film? (Boy would WB/DC be pissed...)

Both times today I found the old thread in one try, with the target on the first page of results.

Good work. I use the search forum a LOT and more often than not the thing I'm looking for is either never found or pages upon pages deep.
It sucks.
For example, when I searched for this thread, I was four pages deep before I said, "Fuck it".
Oh, and a common tactic around here is to bump or link old posts covering the same topic, so I know everyone struggles with the shitty search feature.
And can we talk about how this software doesn't like the new YouTube embed code?
