Korean (I think) flick about a guy who is secretly imprisoned for 15 years, and is never told why. Then he is released and goes on a quest for vengeance.
And when he finally figures everything out.... jesus christ.
Peeps kept recommending this one to me, so I watched it. I guess every man needs to see it once.

I was strangely not taken aback by this as everybody else seemed to be. Fucked up, yeah. Fucked up voyage to trip out city? Nope.

Pretty good film.
I don't think it's in the "Every man should see it" category (I don't see this in the same light as Taken or 300), but I'd recommend it.
I'd give it a solid 8 out of 10.
Apparently, it's far more violent than the manga that inspired it. (Yes, this was a comic book film.) It also doesn't have the shocking plot point. That was invented for the film.
Spielberg and Will Smith were going to make their own version of OldBoy that would be more faithful to the manga, but as of November 2010 that plan was dead.

Spike Lee? No thanks. I'm still waiting for an apology for "Inside Man."
