Denzel Washington is a pilot with a substance abuse problem who happens to be piloting a jet when it suffers a catastrophic mechanical issue. Amazingly, he saves the plane, but now in the spotlight, can he save himself?
I should write copy for these people...
This is a dramatic film about substance abuse. Don't come into it thinking it's Top Gun, although the plane crash is pretty awesome.
Really solid film.

I forgot to mention that Ruxin's wife is in it, and does a full nude scene. It's not a flash either. She is blatantly posing.
Worth the price of admission.
If she had a gentler face (it's pretty, but has "bitch" written all over it), she'd be the new Salma Hayek.

Good flick, although I didn't care for some elements of the ending. Frustrating in some ways. But still, a very good flick.

Just link the video clip and that's all I need to see of the movie.

I thought the ending was a bit predictable. They set that moment up earlier in the film.
There is another character in the film that was very well acted, but felt incomplete. I think you could have taken this person out of the script and really not miss anything.
Two things that really bugged me were the co-pilot (post crash) with his injuries and beliefs, and how they had 10 other pilots attempt the same thing and they all crashed. I'm not sure what the co-pilot symbolized. As for the other pilots, if they were told how to do it, someone should have succeeded.
I don't know how Denzel didn't get any award nominations for this film. He was awesome.

No, you need to see the plane crash too.

I am pretty sure I had the crash spoilered in a trailer I saw before some other movie. Doesn't he force a barrel roll in order to stabilize the plane for a controlled crash-landing?

No, there is no barrel roll. It's much more interesting than that.

Hmm.
Well I am not going to watch a movie where some guy gets shit on in the name of zero-tolerance, so I will just look for a clip of the crash, and of a naked hot chick.

I thought Don Cheadle explained it extremely well. People died, and someone has to be responsible. He explained who the parties are that would be doing the finger pointing, who was on his side, who wasn't, etc.
At the end of the day, he was a hero, but he also broke laws. I thought the film did a nice job of explaining who shouldered the blame, both in the hearing and in the final scene.

--- And again, off to the spoiler thread! I hated the ending a lot. Still a good movie everyone should watch sometime. ---
