The first of many stand alone Star Wars movies?
They need to be careful with this stand alone stuff. The movies still need to be interconnected, and not fuck up the mythos.

Yoda? Maybe. The article also talks about a Boba Fett movie, which would be awesome except it's FUCKING DISNEY.

Awful idea. Yoda works best as the mysterious old zen master type. There's no story they can tell that wont' be a disappointment in comparison to the perceived power derived from that mystery.

Eh, maybe they don't start at the beginning and jump just prior to the Clone Wars.

True, but since when does Hollywood do a character-focused genre movie that doesn't do the origin story?

Escape from New York?

I'm not sure that completely qualifies. That was more about the plot and events than it was about Snake Plissken in particular.
Besides, it's more of a modern phenomenon that I was referring to. It's especially endemic in superhero movies. They always start with the origin. And then redo it every time they reboot.
I wish they'd stop that.

Dude who designed Yoda dies. No word on whether or not it was because he'd heard Disney was making a Yoda movie. Major props if they use the Weird Al song, though.

I would see it ten times if the movie opened with Weird Al's Yoda.
