More of a prequel. Same time frame, and will be the story of the Norwegian camp we saw in the first movie.

I can't imagine the movie will be as good as the Kurt Russel version. Plus, as with the Star Wars prequels, we know how it ends... so who cares?

I have poor expectations for this movie.

I think going the route of the Norwegians is a good idea over a remake or sequel.

Nobody wanted to see a remake and a sequel would probably be worse than a prequel.

At least this way, they can avoid hatred by folks who loved the 1982 version because they're not messing with it. Then, if they happen to make a good film, they can ride that success into a sequel of what happens when MacReady thaws out.

By the time you finish watching this, you'll wish they'd just cloned the '80s version.

This movie... ugh.

Somehow Americans ended up being the main characters of this flick that takes place in the Norwegian camp.

There are things that don't make sense between the movies.... what happened with the dude who had his throat cut in the chair? People expected that to be answered, but it happened off screen so who the hell knows. Why didn't Macready and crew see the snowcats near the space ship? That is where the chick left them, supposedly like a day before Macready got there. She should have still been there, alive, when Macready showed up.

A real disappointment, even for a prequel. Prequels are supposed to provide back story, and this just left more loose ends, as far as I am concerned. The only back story they provided was shit that was already spelled out for us in the first movie.
