Last warning: spoilers.
1. It only takes a day and a half of getting his ass kicked left and right to teach Thor humility, compassion, and kingly wisdom?
2. Thor seems to be ready to join SHIELD quick enough, near the end, when the entire movie was them "handling" him.

Okay movie. Not a great one, but it was pretty enough.

I was reminded of this thread in the God discussion. Never got around to posting my thoughts, but now seems right.

For fucks sake Gordo, have you never seen a movie before? It's 90 minutes, not ten years long. Who wants to watch mortal Thor make amends and learn to be a better person for years? Simply let him sacrifice himself, and let's get to the ass kicking. Oh, and have Natalie take her top off.
(And this is for anyone coming here due to the "footnote" in the other thread...is just like how God was really hands on and vengeful in the Old Testament, and then all of a sudden reinvented himself as this mystical force that doesn't directly talk to anyone or actual take any action in their lives...that they know about. That shit has always amused me. End of footnote.)
But yes Gordon, both of your points are valid. I thought the second half of the movie was really, really rushed. I'm guessing they removed a scene or two that would have slowed the pace down a touch.

Supposedly it wasn't the so much the ass-kicking that turned him around as much as it was the love for a woman. Meh.

Obviously, Thor skipped out on seeing the Star Wars prequels.

I think the Star Wars prequels are what started the war with the ice giants.
