I waited a day to write this review because I wasn't sure how I felt about the movie. After 24 hours, I now know...it sucked.
The acting was good, the premise was different, and there's a nude woman throughout the film. However, it sucks because it implies that ALL men are rapists. Not just rapists, but abusive rapists. Oh, and stalkers, territorial assholes, and basically all around violence loving retards.
The women don't come off much better either.
For a film that claims to be a look into the human psyche, that's a big, big problem.
The story is about two high school kids who explore an abandoned hospital and find a woman in a sealed off room in the cellar. The catch is that the door into the room was rusted shut, and despite the fact that she's chained down and unable to move, she's still alive.
Fuck it, here come spoilers. Turn away if you really want to see the film.
What the fuck is the woman supposed to be? She's a rotting corpse, although stupidly, she only start rotting once they find her. She can't be killed when her neck is broken, she's choked, beaten, shot, etc. Her bite also transmits her condition. She can't speak. She retains her wounds. She is hungry for flesh.
Zombie right? Wrong. See, one of the main characters puts a knife through her skull, but she's fine a scene later.
I don't know what this movie was trying to say, but I'm offended by it.
So again, good premise, a naked woman, some decent acting, good scenery and effects, but horrible writing.
I can't recommend it to anyone unless they happen to love zombies, but not enough to where their "rules" don't apply, and they must hate men completely...and women.
2 out of 10.
