I'm on a mini-roll with smaller budget films that don't suck.
Donkey Punch is really, really boring for the first 15 minutes or so. I was playing on my Nintendo DS, monitoring my cities in Evony, and doing everything but pay attention. Some chick got dumped and her friends want to take her out to help her get over it. This opening setup could have been done in half the time.
Anyway, they hook up with some guys and get on a yacht with them. Everyone's having a good time until someone commits manslaughter.
The rest of the film is the remaining people trying to deal with the incident. Some want to cover it up, others don't.
This is a thriller, and you can expect that with disagreements over a dead body, and jail on the line, not everyone will get off the boat alive.
The acting is decent with nobody giving a memorable performance, aside from one girl in the big sex scene. The chick was experienced in what she was doing. That's all I'll say about that.
Since I brought up sex, be aware that this movie goes from "boring as hell" to "as close to a porno as a legit film can get" out of nowhere. That's why I recommend you watch it with a date. Although, it might back fire on you a bit if you love doggy style...
ok, jokes aside, I was pleasantly surprised by this film. Sure, there are some stupid character moments, but the overall entertainment of the film helped cover them up. Although, one is pretty bad and completely pulled me out of the film as I was no longer thinking about the movie, but how stupid she was...
Not a horrible film. Worth the $1 I paid to rent it.
