Ants are killing everything in their path, and only Tom Wopat can stop them!
This movie had to have been a Sci Fi Channel movie as it's in the same genre of "shitty sci-fi/horror".
All you really need to know is that an alien takes control of the ants and they all combine together to fight for their rights. I wish I was making this up.
Anyway, they take hostages, create tentacles that can smash things (the tentacles are made entirely of ants...physics is not even an afterthought here), communicate with humans, etc.
This whole movie is a low budget nightmare. Every prop used looks cheap, the effects suck, and Tom Wopat is the big star.
Speaking of Tom Wopat, this is where he belongs. He's not great here by any stretch of the imagination, but he seems a lot more comfortable than when I last saw him, which was on stage playing Billy Flinn. (He was fucking brutal.)
Anyway, this thing is an embarrassment to cinema. I realize that crap like this makes it's money, but to me it's like prostitution. Sure, it's easy cash, but you feel dirty.
