The Afterdark Film Festival presents its next lucky 8 indy horror films that see nationwide release.
This one is about a cop whose son was abducted 10 years to the day earlier. Not really horror right? Well, and those who want to avoid spoilers should leave now...the guy who abducted him did so with many kids (14) and has turned them into the zombies from 28 Days Later, only tougher.
The film starts slowly and resembles a dramatic thriller, but slower and with less action. Then the zombies come out and it just descends into stupidity.
The action, direction, and special effects are all fine, it's just that the story sucks. Some of the acting sucks too, but I usually cut that slack in indy films.
Not one of the better Afterdark films I've seen.
2 out of 10.
