Bombed.
It debuted at #8 on the top ten list making $4.5 million.
I have heard nothing good or bad on the film, so I'm not judging it. However, I will say that it seems to be pretty obvious that the American public doesn't want Hollywood to do these movies.

From the trailers I saw, it is a movie glorifying the military deserter.

Read nothing about it but all I needed to see was that it was an mtv film that had to do with iraq/war to know what direction this movie would go in.

Wall Street Journal said it was convoluted and full of side-trips that do little to advance the main plotline.

I was with the wife somewhere over the weekend and saw the cover of Rolling Stone which proclaimed it a great movie.
I turned to her and said, "That's pretty much all I needed to see to know that movie sucks."
