This was a 5 season show on HBO a while back, and I'm just now catching it.... I've only got 2 episodes to go.

It's about a family of funeral directors. The father died in the first episode... and he;s been in almost every episode ever since.

I just wanted to say that so far in season 5, put out in 2005, there has been a mandatory "Bush sucks/republicans suck/conservatives suck" moment in every damned episode, and it is so obvious that it pulls me right out of the story and makes me think that some/all of the writers must have been real shitheads that they just couldn't keep their politics out of the damned show.

It re-hardens my heart toward the writer's union and their strike.

I believe the first few episodes were shown to me as part of my "Anthropology of Death" course. I thought they were alright. Damn shame to see they eventually pan out to shit.

In spite of the halliburton/iran/gonna be a draft! moment, that may be the most brilliant ending of any series ever.

The last 10 minutes of this show may be the 10 best minutes of any television show, ever. It is haunting my idle mind.

But you need to watch the entire series to put the last ten minutes in context.
