CW asked Kevin Smith to direct a pilot for a new show starting this fall, and now the word on the street is that it's testing very, very well.

The premise is about a kid whose...well shit, just watch the trailer.

The fat guy is pretty funny. He reminds me of a fatter, less drunk Jack Black.

Looks like something I'd check out for a few episodes.

Seems to be a cross between Ghost RIder and Dawson's Creek and any movie Kevin SMith has ever made.

That dude was a fucking weak devil.

Contrary to how they're marketing it, Kevin did NOT write this show. He was just asked to direct the pilot and that's it.

Two episodes down, and it's okay. Not great, not bad, just okay.

But I must say I do like the devil on this series. He's an intriguing character so far. Enough so that I'll watch a bit longer.

Ok, our cable box is breaking down and I need to turn it in, but all my Reaper episodes are on it and cannot be recovered.

Thus, is the show worth it or not? I could keep the box another week or two and catch up or trade it in now and not worry about it.

Who's watching it? I know it hasn't gotten the greatest ratings so that's not a good sign.

Worth watching, but not worth putting yourself out to do so.

There's some ongoing plot, but once you know the basics (kid's parents sell first-born's soul to devil before he was born, devil collects by making him work as bounty hunter to capture escaped souls from hell using weird objects called "receptacles" that capture the soul which is later dropped off at the DMV, kid's two friends help him do this, kid likes girl but is having problems because he can't tell her truth as to why he keeps missing dates, devil is devious don't trust him) you're good to go to watch any new episode and understand it fine. If you like 'em catch up later when the DVDs come out.

Sounds like someone turned "Brimstone" into a sitcom.

I don't laugh often. I grin, I smile, if it's really good I'll chuckle. But very rarely laugh. I just laughed at this show so fucking hard I hurt myself.

It's still overall just a reasonably good series, but today's episode had a scene that is absolutely perfect.
