Synopsis :
Some no name, nothing, average dude is out on the road in the early '70s. He somehow attracts the attention of a psychotic truck driver who makes his life difficult for the remainder of the afternoon.

Review :
Wow. Apparently, Spielberg wasn't always insane cos he put together a damn fine film from one of the simplest premises imaginable. 'Course, it was in novel form & the script appears to have been done by the author himself, so Steve doesn't receive any points for the actual idea. Also means that a few very questionable character choices & plot branchings aren't Steve's fault this time, though. Before he discovered CG, he was forced to rely on things like lighting, camera angles, concrete scenery, pacing, etc., to make his films interesting. You know, shit that real directors utilize. It's a relatively short, suspenseful flick that's worth watching if for no other reason than to prove a made-for-TV movie in the '70s still ranks miles above mainstream shit produced today.

Verdict : 6 of 10. Not too much thinking, a pacing problem or two, and some straight up dumbass decisions taken by the protagonist cannot taint this completely. Check it out if you've got spare time one day.
