I love the books and I'm excited they are doing a movie, but jeeze this is going to be kinda hard to take the kids to see isn't it?
Further details would require spoilers.

I actually went and checked before I clicked the link... IT IS a girl... paul didn't mention that (and I had forgotten since I read the book ages ago)

Ah yes. A girl. An attractive girl. And it's video. And it's not the bad kind of nudity. I figured "naked" trumped any NSWF warning.
This is in no way a trick and you all owe me!
I didn't read the book, but the wife saw some HP special last nigiht, with cast interviews. I remember that girl had a few comments.
Now when you watch HP4 and see her, you'll think of her naked.
Then you'll think of me.
You would be mad at me for taking you out of the moment... but then you'll think of her naked again and all will be forgiven.
Such is the magic of boobies.

I've thought the same thing.
The only thing I can think of is that this is just another thing that kids are into and there parents have no idea about any of it.
If they did I would think some parents would be freaking out.

Saw the HBO "making of" thing this morning.
Cast and crew, one by one, doing the "my character is *this* person and does *that.*" All very enthusiastic and not sarcastic.
They get to that french girl: "My character is exactly what english men think french girls are like."
And that's all the interview time she got.

Why didn't you mention the dance number in the new movie?

No Flash installed.
Which cuts down tremendously on ads, I might say.

Just saw it today. Didn't like it. They took the book, threw it into a blender, and pieced half of it back together in no particular order. The characters were made to behave in ways they just wouldn't and the intros for the schools was just corny (hey we know magic but instead of conjuring fireballs as we walk in we'll do a dance number).
If they intend to continue the series on film they are going to have to backtrack considerably. They left out some key details they'll need later. Hopefully they stop the movie series as they've just ruined it.

Just finished the book. Fills in some major gaps I never knew existed, which has given me a much greater appreciation for the movie. Makes me feel like how the peeps who never saw Firefly but then saw Serenity must have felt. It feels like I'm getting the back story.
I'm looking forward to starting Order of the Phoenix tonight.
And yes, I know I'll never get even to movie #6 without having it all spoilered for me, so I'm just reading the books, which I've never done.
It seems like each book... following a year each of our main characters' lives, get a more mature literary style. I don't know if this is from JK Rowling becoming a better author with each book, or if she's done this on purpose to make each book appropriate for readers the same age as our characters. If that makes sense.
