The woman/wife on the phone in Tony's coma dream sounded like one of his ex girlfriends... either the art dealer or the crazy car sales girl.

So did Tony puke at the end because he was scared to death because he knew he had to kick someone's ass, or because he's just really sick from being shot.........

Here's my straight-out-of-my-head speculation for the last episode:
After a valiant last stand, The entire NJ crew is gunned down. At minute 35 of the episode.
The last 30 minutes will be a Godfathereque montage of the aftermath, beginning with Tony's funeral. We'll get brief glimpses of Carmela, Meadow, and AJ's lives as they go on.
We'll see Meadow marry the kid she's been dating recently... we'll see his rise in the NY family... and we'll see poor Meadow become the wife of the new Boss of New York.... basically, she'll become her mother... which has been an overriding theme of the series. AJ will be the new, cold-blooded Uncle Junior.
And the cycle will continue.

I've got it paused.
My long term theory is that Tony turns rat. Formed that opnion about two seasons ago.
Now that his crew is all but dead, he's a target and even his doctor has thrown him out. . . supports my theory even more.

The show just ending abruptly fooled me. I thought HBO had lost the feed or something.
I knew they were going to leave a ton of loose ends but I was still bummed by it.

Having that guy in the trucker hat and then that other guy looking around had me on the edge. When the black guys walked in I didn't think he was going to get hit anymore and it was just to make everyone watching crazy.
Overall my two favorite people Sil and Paulie are technically still alive so I am happy. I really didn't want anything bad to happen to Paulie.

Various theories out on the Internet.
1. You make up your own ending this way cause Dave Chase knew he'd piss people off with one ending or another.
2. You, the viewer, were part of Tony's crew and you got 'clipped' at the end. Never heard it coming. . .
3. Tony was killed and the entire series was his life flashing before his eyes.
Those were the best three I found.

I'm choosing the "life goes on" ending.
I think the last 5 minutes we were made to feel how Tony feels everyday of his life... waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I think the ending was perfect. They even through (Schroedinger's) Cat in there... Tony is neither alive nor dead.

Just watched it again from the DVR... watching it without all the suspense of the unknown, I'm leaning even farther into "Tony lives."
Of course, he is probably about to be indicted on RICO charges because Carlos flipped, so really.....
I said looong ago that there's no way this series can end on a happy note, because essentially Tony is an unhappy monster. We got the "life goes on" ending, but I don't see that as necessarily 'happy', for him. He's just not dead or in jail yet.

Then what happened was Sil comes out of the coma and resumes as underboss.
Paulie lives forever and the cat still stays around.
Janice pisses off the wrong people and gets killed.
A.J. and Carmela quits being bitches.
Furio returns and kicks some more ass.
And Meadow and the girls from the bing run off with me to a private island where it is illegal for women to wear clothes.
