Like Casino Royale?

Sony's new DVD DRM might render the disk uplayable on your DVD player.

Even if your DVD player is a Sony.

But you have to admit, it's REALLY good copy protection.

Thanks for the warning.

Casino Royale was on my "buy" list. It has been removed.

I used to be a huge Sony fan, but between this, the arrogance of the PS3, the music CDs that install spyware, their competitors rapidly passing Sony technology and prices, etc. I'm pretty much done with them.

They need to really focus on winning back consumer trust or at least come out with some kick ass products. They aren't Microsoft, they don't have the public by the short and curlys.

Yeah, back when my apt burned down in 99, I bought all Sony stuff for replacement av equipment.

Since then, I've not bought anything Sony, and am thinking about a fancy new LCD TV, but it won't be a Sony.

The cost of lawsuits must have reached the cost of a recall. Sony will now replace disks that wont play.
